ASi-5 Safety launches input modules with safe and non-safe signals

ASi-5 Safety is now certified and ready for use and will optimally complement the established ASi Safety line in the future. The latest Safety generation can be easily integrated into existing solutions. Main advantage of ASi-5 Safety: You can use many safe and non-safe signals under just one single address: BWU4209 has 2 inputs for potential-free contacts, BWU4210 has 2 inputs for optoelectronic protective devices. Both items will be available from the beginning of 2022.

Note on the Log4Shell Security Vulnerability

Bihl+Wiedemann Products Are Not Affected by the Log4Shell Security Vulnerability. According to press reports from December 2021, the Log4Shell vulnerability found in the widely used Log4j Java library threatens billions of computers around the world. The German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) considers the threat situation to be extremely critical and has therefore issued a red cyber security alert, which is the highest level of warning. Bihl+Wiedemann products and devices are not affected by the Log4Shell security vulnerability because we do not currently use the vulnerable Log4j Java library – and have never used it in the past. New ASi-5/ASi-3 Gateways for Many Nodes With High Power Requirements

Do you intend on realizing large ASi or ASi-5 applications with only one gateway? Do the ASi nodes also have high requirements for current from ASi (8 A)? Then use our new ASi-5/ASi-3 gateways with two ASi circuits, each with an 8 A decoupling coil – we offer a product variant for PROFINET (BWU4257) and also for EtherNet/IP+ModbusTCP (BWU4258). Both gateways are more than just successor products to our ASi-3 gateways – with them you also benefit from state-of-the-art technology, a separate diagnostic interface and all advantages of ASi-5. You also have the option of powering both circuits with just one 30V power supply (BW4221 or BW4222) with a total of 16 A.
